The latest development in continuous action switch/production track tamping, surfacing and lining. The Unimat 09/4S series are all in one machines – continuous action production tamping, double split-head switch and interlocking tamping, and 50 mph travel capability alone or in MDZ consist.

The 09/4S is available as a single tie tamper (Unimat 09-16/4S) or as a dual tie tamper (Unimat 09-32/4S). Major features are:

• Operator’s cabin, travel cabins, power unit, main hydraulic components and electronic systems are mounted on the continuously moving main frame.
• Satellite mounted tie tamping units and rail clamp for high speed, continuous action production tamping.
• Double split, traversable, single tie tamping units for complete switch tamping. Combination rail clamp for switch and production work.
• Unique three point Integrated Auxiliary Turn-out Lifting System for switch and interlocking work.
• Four rail tamping capability in switches and cross-overs.
• AGGS – Automatic Geometry Guidance System for precise track geometry. Allows automatic “best fit” geometry corrections or manual corrections as desired.
• Shoulder compaction unit for increased lateral stability directly after tamping.

• Separate cab for switch and interlocking work allows better visibility and direct control over the track lifting operation.
